When people laugh at you because of observing and practicing any sunnah this should give you strength that you’re on the right track and have some bruises to show to your Lover swt. 

Prophet Muhammad sallahoalaihiwasallam also had to bear the resentment and hootings   on the street of Makkah and Taif. This resemblance is itself has a soothing effect.

ساری دنیا کی  نگاہوں  سے گرا ہے  مجذوب

تب کہیں جا کے تیرے دل میں جگہ پائی ہے

(یُجَاہِدُوۡنَ فِیۡ سَبِیۡلِ اللّٰہِ وَلَا یَخَافُوۡنَ لَوۡمَۃَ لَآئِمٍ ؕ ذٰلِکَ فَضۡلُ اللّٰہِ یُؤۡتِیۡہِ مَنۡ یَّشَآءُ ؕ )
[Surah Al-Ma’idah 54]

Who strive in the way of Allah and are not afraid of the reproach of any critic.
