Three unfortunate people

Ramadan is the blessed month we wait for the whole year. It is reported in a hadith that
إن لربكم في أيام دهركم نفحات، فتعرضوا لها، لعله أن يصيبكم نفحة منها فلا تشقون بعدها أبدًا.
طبراني

Which closely means that indeed there swirls breeze of Divine Guidance from your Lord, avail it as it may bring you eternally free from all the miseries.

My shaikh, Hazrat Maulana Hakim Akhtar Sahab used to say that the whole month of Ramadan and especially the Lailatul-Qadr are the blessed and special times where everybody gets showered with blessings and duas answered.

However, even in those blessed hours, three people remain unfortunate and will ultimately regret bigtime.

  • the disobedient of parents
  • the person who does not find Ramadan an opportunity to return to his Lord
  • the person who does not say durood (invocations of blessings) upon the Prophet Mohammad SAW when he hears his name

Relationship with parents is never a give and take relationship. They have been given the hearts to face hardships in order to see their child’s successes. But as they grow old, many of them develop impatience and bad-tampered syndrome. Never disrespect them, please!, no matter how logical explanation you might have. At worst stay silent and at best obey them.

Doors of mercy and forgiveness are wide open. Go and grab the opportunity!
